The Melanoma Centre’s reputation is based on our provision of meticulously thorough, full skin examinations and is exclusively devoted to mole and skin cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our doctors have undertaken advanced diagnostic and surgical skills training in skin cancer. At the Melanoma Centre we believe that there is no room for shortcuts during a mole examination, as it can place lives at risk.
We treat our patients in the same way we would expect ourselves and our families to be treated – with care and attention to detail. We use the latest gold-standard dermatoscopes to ensure every site is reviewed and every spot is checked.
Our practice is specifically designed to provide a high standard of skin cancer services with 8 purpose-built consultation rooms and a procedure room.
Queensland's longest running private skin cancer clinic
The Melanoma Centre was established in the year 2000. The Melanoma Centre is the only fully private clinic exclusively devoted to mole and skin cancer diagnosis and treatment in Queensland. Privately owned and operated, The Melanoma Centre has no connection with corporate owned or bulk-billing skin cancer clinic chains.
On 31st October 2016, The Melanoma Centre team relocated to new, modern premises conveniently located in Spring Hill Marketplace. The new practice is located on level 1, alongside Turbot Street Medical Centre. The practice is easily accessible, with 2 hour free parking and disabled access.
In April 2023 we outgrew our Spring Hill practice and relocated to an even larger practice in South Bank. We are now located at in the South Point South Bank shopping centre on 275 Grey Street, South Brisbane.
Our practice opening hours are as per below. We open alternate Saturdays for patients who are unable to attend the weekday appointments.

To help us provide the best possible service for you and to see all patients in a timely manner, we strongly recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. As we have a limited parking service, this will ensure that you have enough time to find parking.
Full skin check appointments take 30 minutes, however those with an excessively large number of moles are allotted a 45 minute or hour-long appointment. We will always ensure that we can find a suitable appointment time with your preferred doctor.
Appointments are held aside for urgent procedures.
We are located at the Southpoint Office, just past Flight Centre on the upper ground level, opposite Griffith University.
We encourage you to use public transport for a convenient and hassle-free commute. The South Bank train station is located right behind us for easy public transport. Multiple bus routes also go past our practice.
Parking is available via Tribune Street, underneath the Emporium with up to 1-hour validation. A credit, Master or Visa card is needed to gain access to the car park, you will only be charged the difference between your time in the car park and the 1-hour validation.
Parking 1-20 minutes over the 1-hour validation is only $5.00, and 21-60 minutes over the 1-hour validation is only $11.00.

Late arrivals, missed or cancelled appointments interferes with the smooth running of our practice and creates unnecessary scheduling issues for other patients.
We do ask that if for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment, you notify us as soon as possible. This will allow others the opportunity for an appointment with their doctor. We appreciate a minimum of 2 working days' notice to cancel an appointment. In some cases, we may charge a fee for cancelled appointments.
Results and Recalls
Our doctors work closely with our administrative team to follow up with patients in a timely manner. We have specific times reserved for urgent and non-urgent excisions and our doctors will advise you of a suitable appointment time accordingly in case a procedure is needed.
